FAQs

In your first session, called the intake session, we'll get to know each other, discuss what brought you to therapy, and begin to explore your goals. The first session is a time for you to ask questions and for us to get a sense of how we can best support you. The pace is gentle, and there is no pressure to share more than you are comfortable with. The strength of the “therapeutic alliance,” the collaborative, trusting relationship between a therapist and a client, is the main predictor of success in counseling. With this in mind, we encourage clients to find counselors who they feel completely comfortable and safe with, even if that means asking us to refer you to someone else following the intake.
-
The length of therapy depends on your unique needs and goals. Some clients come for a few sessions to work through a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll work collaboratively to determine what feels right for you.
-
We offer both in-person and secure telehealth sessions to accommodate your preferences and needs. Whether you feel more comfortable from the convenience of your home or in our office space, we’ll meet you where you are.
-
Yes. What you share in therapy stays between us, with a few legal exceptions related to safety (such as if someone is at risk of harm). We’ll go over these confidentiality guidelines in your first session so you feel informed and secure.

We are in-network with several insurance providers. Please contact us or check our Insurance & Fees page to see if your plan is accepted. If we are out-of-network, we are happy to provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.

Rates vary by provider and session type. We aim to keep our services affordable and transparent. Please contact us directly for up-to-date pricing. Sliding scale options may be available on a limited basis.

As outlined in our intake documents, our practice has a fee for appointments that are missed or canceled with less than 24 hours' notice. There are two main reasons for this policy:
This fee is intended to help you stay committed to the healing process.
Missed appointments, especially with short notice, mean your therapist cannot offer that time to another client. They also cannot bill insurance for a session that didn’t occur. This directly affects their ability to earn a living and provide care. We aim to keep therapy accessible by accepting insurance, and, in return, we ask that you attend your scheduled sessions or notify us with ample notice.

Yes! We provide a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions. We also affirm and welcome people of all races, faiths, cultures, body sizes, and neurodiversity. Our goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and valued exactly as you are.

Faith-based counseling integrates spiritual or religious beliefs into the therapeutic process for clients who desire it. For many individuals, faith is a core part of their identity and influences how they view the world, make decisions, and cope with challenges. Faith-based counseling acknowledges and respects this, allowing therapists to apply evidence-based techniques in a way that aligns with a client’s values, background, and moral framework. At Hope Counseling Solutions, we recognize that honoring a client’s spiritual beliefs can be essential to effective healing, and we proudly offer inclusive, supportive care for individuals from all religious or spiritual backgrounds.
-
We view health and well-being holistically and understand that a lot of individuals consider their faith to be a large part of their overall wellness. With that being said, our counselors are open to discussing faith in session and using faith as a source of coping and hope in a way that other non-faith-based counselors might not feel comfortable doing.
-
Our counselors are not pastors/religious experts. Instead, they are individuals who are open to approaching mental health in a holistic way, according to a client’s specific needs. We will not act as experts in any faith background. Instead, we encourage clients who choose to do so to incorporate their faith into their coping practices.
-
At Hope Counseling Solutions, we welcome all individuals regardless of their faith/religious beliefs. During the first session, called the intake session, we ask clients about their faith preferences and if they consider their faith to be an important part of their overall well-being. If they do and elect to discuss this during sessions, we welcome that. If they do not, we also welcome that. We do not believe in conversion therapy or forcing individuals to practice a faith/religion they do not believe in.
